Official Awards Announcement
Three days is not enough time to showcase all the wonderful international films that promoted the classical arts from the previous year. Selecting this year’s line up of films was a difficult task for the committee, but it was also very rewarding. The Jarvis Conservatory and The Classical Arts Film Festival are honored to have been able to exhibit the selected fourteen unique films during the 2018 event. All participating filmmakers received an official selection certificate. Each film highlighted different aspects of a life dedicated to this profession and all are cinematic treasures. Of these fourteen outstanding films, this year the festival selected six films with a recognition of excellence. The winning category filmmakers each will receive a Jarvis Award Plaque to honor their accomplishment.

What if the classic novel, “Moby Dick” were a reality show? This basic pitch doesn’t even begin to describe the beautifully crafted mockumentary film by Anaëlle Morf and Alexandre Rufin. These filmmakers will keep this genre alive and thriving for years to come.
A perfect portal into the lives of a travelling quartet. An honest “slice of life” representing so many globe-trotting groups of musicians.
A whirlwind of emotion packed into this well crafted image-driven narrative. One piece of music tells so many stories yet they all synthesize to one story. A wonderful journey.
